Request a sandbox

Overview​

Sandbox is a separate, isolated ChainIT environment. It is a functional replica of production with its own organization, its own accounts, and its own data. Nothing you do in sandbox touches live production records.

Why developers use it

  • Try Admin Portal flows without risk.
  • Register applications in the Developer Portal and get sandbox clientId / clientSecret.
  • Build and test API integrations against a real environment before going live.

What this guide covers

Everything from "my organization is live in production" to "I am signed in to sandbox Admin": the sandbox request, Super Admin approval, sandbox business verification, creating your sandbox ChainIT ID, and completing the PV1 task.

Set up your organization's sandbox

Use this guide if: your organization is onboarding onto ChainIT and needs its own sandbox environment for integration and production testing. All steps from production setup to a signed-in sandbox Admin — in order.

Before you begin

Production and sandbox are separate environments with separate logins. In the ChainIT mobile app, press and hold Sign up for about 5 seconds to switch to sandbox mode. Never reuse your production ChainIT ID in sandbox.

    Complete production onboarding

    Your organization must be onboarded, business-verified, Verified, and Active in production before you can request sandbox access.

    Request sandbox access
    • Sign in to production Admin with your production ChainIT ID.
    • Go to Administration → Request Sandbox.
    • Click Initialize Sandbox.

    Status should show Request Submitted — awaiting Super Admin approval.

    Wait for approval and provisioning

    Status moves through Request Submitted → Provisioning in Progress → Environment Ready. If it fails, click Retry Request.

    Open the approval email

    Once your sandbox request is approved, you receive an email titled Your sandbox request has been approved. Click Continue in the email.

    Wait for business verification

    Usually within 1–2 minutes you receive a business verification email.

    • Verified → click Continue, go to step 5.
    • Not verified → go to step 4A.

    If needed
    Complete additional business verification

    Open the Business Not Verified email → click Continue → fill in the verification form → click Submit → wait for the Business Verified confirmation email.

    Open the sandbox Admin portal

    Open the Business Verified email and click Continue. You land on the sandbox Admin sign-in page with a QR code on screen.

    Scan the sandbox QR code

    Scan the QR on the sandbox Admin page using the ChainIT app or your phone camera. You will be redirected to the production ChainIT app — this is expected.

    Switch the app to sandbox mode

    In the ChainIT app, press and hold Sign up for about 5 seconds until you see the environment switch toast. Confirm you are in sandbox mode before continuing.

    Create your sandbox ID
    • Tap Sign up (do not hold).
    • Enter your phone number and complete the OTP.
    • Finish any checkout / promo step.
    • Complete onboarding to create your sandbox ID.

    Your sandbox ID is separate from your production ID.

    Scan the sandbox QR again

    Return to the sandbox Admin portal. Open the ChainIT app in sandbox mode and scan the QR code again. This connects your new sandbox ID to the portal.

    Complete the PV1 task

    A PV1 task appears in your sandbox mobile app. Open it, complete all required steps, and submit. Do not skip this — creating the sandbox ID alone is not enough.

    Scan the sandbox QR one final time

    Go back to the sandbox Admin portal, display the QR code, and scan it once more from the sandbox mobile app. This final scan completes the connection.

    Sandbox onboarding complete

    Sandbox Admin loads for your sandbox organization. You can now use sandbox Admin, invite teammates, and continue to the Developer Portal.
